April Review

April started off with the annual Blues and Colours Ball held by the Sports Union. This is a night where all the Sports Clubs at the University come together for an evening out, with club prizes handed out too. This year we won Club of the Year for the second year running, and for the 4th time out of the past 5 years which is a huge credit to the hard work put in by all the members of the club.

The following night we hosted our Alumni ceilidh, which also was a great success and a fun night for all. We welcomed back many members from previous years, solidifying our alumni network for the years to come. It was an opportunity for everyone to get dressed up and relax for the evening in the run up to exams and a busy training schedule.

In the middle of April we ran our AGM to select the new committee for the coming year. There were so many good candidates for each role, and I’d just like to congratulate everyone on their new positions and can’t wait to see how the new year progresses.

Our crews got a taste of regatta season with a trip to Strathclyde Park for Spring Regatta. This was, for many of the members, the first regatta of their rowing careers and everyone put in an impressive performance. Some very good placings were achieved, and a good experience was had by all.

Exam season has begun and so we would like to wish everyone the best of luck for their upcoming exams, and to enjoy themselves when they get the opportunities.
