October Review

October has been a busy month for DUBC. We finished up our hugely successful Give it a Row sessions and took our competitive crew to the first race of the season. We have had many new faces join DUBC this semester and we have enjoyed returning to training, on and off the water with them. October has been our first month back to full training since the beginning of the pandemic and it went without a hitch!

Our committee has been busy behind the scenes making sure that this year goes as smoothly as possible in every aspect, from socials to races and fundraisers to safety. October has been a busy month for all but a very successful one!

Our social convenor and keen committee members have been hard at work this month making sure our new members are welcomed into DUBC in the appropriate manner. A very successful covid friendly Flat Row, in place of our usual Pub Row got our socials off to a brilliant start for the year. Each flat on the circuit putting in a brilliant effort to link to their theme. This was followed by our Under the Tay themed social for welcome drinks which saw some amazing costumes and some questionable team challenges! Finally we have had our Super Saturday where the freshers were able to earn their ties and visors for the coming year.

Our competitive crew went to compete in Clyde 3 Head on 23rd of October and had a very good race, the men's double missing out on first place by a matter of seconds. We are now looking forward to taking the entire club up to Inverness later in November.

We look forward to updating you on next month, there is already a lot in the works!
